New Faith Formation Team and Sunday School for 2013-2014

Introducing St. Peter’s New Faith Formation Team: Deb Bosch, Pam Litterer, Janan Wegner, Brandie Witte.

What’s Faith Formation?  It is helping to form the faith of children, youth and adults as they grow in understanding of their faith and the church. The Faith Formation Team will be planning Sunday School and other children and family activities.  What’s New?
Everything!

Curriculum: Spark from Augsburg Fortress, the lectionary based series.  This means the content of Sunday School each week will be based on the Sunday readings for that day. Children will learn about the scripture of the day and related topics, than have that learning reinforced at Sunday Worship and in the Children’s sermon.

Kick off:  Sunday, September 8 is the ELCA “God’s work, our Hands” Sunday.  We begin with Sunday Worship. After worship families’ sign up for a service project in the community, than go out and be God’s hands for the afternoon.  At 5:00/5:30 we will meet at the Camp Ground Shelter for Hot dogs and Smores around the camp fire. Children, Confirmation Students and Youth  will receive free “God’s Work our Hands” T-Shirts with St. Peter Church printed on them.  Adults may purchase a shirt for $5.00.

Service projects will be posted at church and listed in the bulletin. The classroom portion of Sunday School begins Sunday, September 15 at 9:15A to 10:15A for children 3 years old through 6th Grade. Watch for other fun or service events throughout the
year. The St. Peter website at www.stpeterrockwell.org will have Sunday School information and notifications posted on it.
